valentino’s fifth ave apt

images: taken by Jonathan Becker for vanityfair.com

a goal when designing a room or apartment is combining all components and styles you love, while also creating a cohesive look. i just found these images from vanity fair of valentino's recently revived fifth avenue apartment that define this balance perfectly. since his retirement, valentino found himself spending more time at home and teamed up with interior designer, jacques grange to redesign his apartment overlooking central park.

the apartment shows a refined range of exquisite tastes, from the eye catching art to the antique pieces throughout. he balances these
different, yet strong styles expertly. they do not overpower, but instead complement each other, highlighting the beauty of each component.

now if only i could take some of this inspiration and skill and apply it to my tiny studio...
